A disciple is, by definition, a learner…a student. Jesus has called us to make learners.
Not church members.
Not well-dressed, “Sunday-clothes-wearing”, well-groomed young men and women.
Not board members.
Not Sunday School teachers.
No, we are called to make learners—people learning to be like Christ. If the question by which we evaluate our ministry–both personal and communal– is not “Are people becoming more like Christ?” then we are asking the wrong question right from the start. Our priorities are skewed. Our efforts are, at best, misguided.
Is your life oriented in such as way that it brings people closer to Christ…or further.
